Two Endodontic Cases by Dott. Alberto Rieppi, Udine, Italy

Posted by SD Swiss on

I am an associate professor at the University of Padua’s (Italy) Master’s program in Endodontics, and have been a member of the AAE (American Association of Endodontists) since 1990. My own practice (Studio Odontoiatrico Associato) is dedicated exclusively to Endodontics. As a result, I have tried a lot of dental devices and instruments—especially endo ultrasonic tips—but I was never satisfied until I discovered the highly-effective and long-lasting tools manufactured by SD Swiss.

It is my pleasure to write a brief synopsis of two tough cases explaining how effective SD Swiss’s ultrasonic and endodontic instruments are in a real practice. Hopefully the ordered sequence outlined below will help illustrate these tools’ successful use in a complex procedure.

CASE 1: Complex Retreatment

Step 1. Removal of the post with the OUTPOST™ Endodontic Post Removal device

Step 2. Debriding the pulp chamber with the INDY-300 Diamond Retreatment Tip

Step 3. Retrieval the silver cones with the IRS® Instrument Removal System

Step 4. Final clean of the canal walls with the INDY-600 (steps 3 and 4 under microscope)

Endodontic Case 1: Complex Retreatment using the INDY-300 Diamond Retreatment Tip, the IRS® Instrument Removal System and the INDY-600 Diamond Retreatment Tip by Dott. Alberto Rieppi

CASE 2:

Step 1. Under microscope vision debridement of the cement in pulp chamber with the INDY-400 (thinner to avoid touching the silver cones)

Step 2. Retrieval the silver cones with the IRS®

Step 3. Final clean of the canal walls with the INDY-600 (low power setting)

Endodontic Case 2: Retreatment using the INDY-400 Diamond Retreatment Tip, the IRS® Instrument Removal System and the INDY-600 Diamond Retreatment Tip by Dott. Alberto Rieppi

Dott. Alberto Rieppi graduated in medicine and surgery at the University of Trieste, and received his graduate degree in Endodontics at the University of Verona.
